In summary, there are two main points to be noticed in the construction process of FTTH fiber to the household.
1 Drop cable selection
Currently used for FTTH indoor optical fiber selection is butterfly-shaped optical fiber cable, which is simply called a butterfly optical cable. This kind of fiber optic cable can be further divided into indoor cable and self-supporting cable. They are basically the same in structure,equipped with reinforcing members and jackets on both sides of the fiber. The difference is that the self-supporting optical cable itself is also connected side by side with the hanging wire, which can effectively improve the mechanical properties of the cable itself.
In the selection of butterfly optical cables, it should be further noted that the indoor wiring optical cables can be divided into two kinds of metal reinforcing members and non-metal reinforcing members according to the different reinforcing members. In contrast, the non-metallic reinforcing members are butterfly optical cables. The mechanical strength that can endure is relatively small,so in order not to cause damage to the optical fiber core, metal-reinforced component butterfly optical fiber cables are generally used, and the non-metallic reinforcing component butterfly optical fiber cable is only used in occasions where there is a high requirement for lightning protection.
2 Drop cable installation
The security of the residential fiber optic cable needs to consider two aspects. One is the protection of the optical cable itself in the process of entering the home, and the other is the method of treating the optical cable in the laying process.
For the former, the focus of the work lies on the setting of the PVC piping, because not every cable entry shaft in the home environment exists, but for the entry environment without a shaft, PVC piping is required. For this situation, it should first be noted that the specifications of the PVC pipe can meet the laying requirements of the cable, and the smoothness of the PVC pipe spout needs to be inspected to prevent burrs or sharp edges from damaging the cable.The installed PVC piping should not have any cracks or dents, and it can effectively assume the responsibility of protecting its internal cable.
For the latter, attention should be paid to the mechanical forces that the optical cable needs to bear. The focus includes both the tensile force and the crushing force.Different kinds of cables show different bearing capacities.In general, non-metallic reinforcement built-in indoor wiring butterfly optical cables can withstand 40N tensile force and 500N/100mm compaction force, while having a metal reinforced construction indoor Wiring butterfly optical fiber cable can withstand 100N tensile force and 1000N/100mm crushing force. Self-supporting butterfly fiber cable can withstand 300N tensile force and 1000N/100mm crushing force. In the actual work process, the optical cable must be selected according to different working environments.
